Release date and price
The Air Jordan 6 'Bin 23' releases on Thursday 30 April 2026 at 8:00 AM via Nike SNKRS and select retailers.
UK retail is £319.99. With production limited to 2,300 pairs globally, this is one of the tighter drops of the year. Entering a SNKRS draw as early as possible is the best approach. Resale is already moving above retail ahead of launch.
Design and details
The upper is constructed from smooth Off-Noir premium leather with suede hits at the midfoot section, keeping the blacked-out palette rich in material texture rather than relying on colour variation. Picante Red accents land on the TPU back tab, midfoot detailing and the metallic lace lock, providing the only colour contrast on the exterior. University Red hits the laces directly, tying the accent colour through the full shoe.
The design takes its inspiration from luxury performance cars. Perforated leather insoles mirror high-end automotive seating, while contrast stitching along the ankle collar and heel pull tabs references the craftsmanship found in premium car interiors. The polyurethane midsole carries an exposed Air unit in the heel for cushioning, with a durable rubber outsole completing the build.
The sidewalls carry perforations for breathability, and the rubberised tongue and padded collar deliver a secure fit that holds up to the shoe's premium construction. This is a shoe built as much for wear as it is for display.
The premium packaging
The Bin 23 packaging is as much part of the release as the shoe itself. The Air Jordan 6 'Bin 23' comes with wooden Jumpman-branded shoe trees, a dust bag and an updated retro card detailing the story of the Bin 23 collection. The defining detail is the red wax stamp at the heel, the signature mark of the Bin 23 series since its original 2010 launch. It is the kind of unboxing experience that separates a collector release from a standard retro.

The Bin 23 collection story
Jordan Brand launched the Bin 23 series in April 2010 with the Air Jordan 2, before the luxury sneaker market existed in anything like its current form. The idea was simple and genuinely ahead of its time: take iconic Jordan silhouettes, build them in premium materials, limit the production run and price them at a level that reflected the quality rather than the mass market. The name references Michael Jordan's jersey number, 23, stored in the archive.
The original series ran through to February 2011 and covered the Air Jordan 2, 5, 7, 9 and 13. Each pair carried the signature red wax stamp and a price tag well above standard retros of the time. The collection predated the broader luxury sneaker boom and established a template that many brands have followed since.
The 2026 revival brings back the series with the Air Jordan 3, 8 and 6. The AJ6 is the first of the three to release, on its 35th anniversary, and it is also the first time the silhouette has been part of the Bin 23 lineage. The 2,300 pair production limit keeps it in line with the original series' collector-first approach.
Why this release matters
The Air Jordan 6 is the shoe MJ wore to his first NBA Championship in 1991, making it one of the most historically significant Jordan silhouettes. Giving it the Bin 23 treatment on its 35th anniversary connects two of Jordan Brand's most meaningful narratives — the championship legacy of the shoe and the premium collector ambition of the Bin 23 series — in a single release.
At 2,300 pairs, this sits comfortably in collector territory. The price and packaging both reflect that positioning. For Jordan collectors who have tracked the Bin 23 series since 2010, this is the one that fills the gap in the lineup.
